Founder’s Story – In Her Own Words
I lived a very simple life with my family, but I always wished to do more, to love deeper and serve people in a meaningful way. When I got the chance, I started volunteering at community level, hoping to meet different people from different cultured and understand their challenges.
in 2016, I volunteered with Raleigh Community in Morogoro, and that’s when I truly discovered the joy of service. I worked with women and children, and the love I gave came back to me tenfold. My desire to help others only grew stronger.
Eventually, I found myself drawn to fashion learning how to sew, create, and express. I volunteered backstage at Swahili Fashion Week, and after years of dedication, I saw my own designs on that same runway in 2019.
That journey from a small community volunteer to a woman empowering others through fashion and mentorship is what inspired me to start DANO. I want every woman to not just survive, but to thrive emotionally, creatively, and economically.
At DANO, we’ve transformed the lives of countless women, enabling them to achieve economic independence and emotional wellness through tailored programs in fashion and entrepreneurship.
